To celebrate this day of culture, we’ve got five whacky and delicious cocktails to take your St. Patrick’s Day to a whole new level. And guess what – they’re all green!
Green Fizz Cocktail
1 kiwi, peeled and cut in 1/4 slices
1/2 cored green apple, cut into 1/4 slices
60ml Midori, melon liqueur
170ml carbonated water
Fill two glasses with 2/3 ice before adding half of the apple and kiwi to each; work the apple slices into the ice. Pour 30ml of vodka and 30ml of Midori into each glass, then top with the carbonated water. Release flavour from the kiwi by breaking it up slightly. Serve with straws.
Cucumber Lime Punch
2 trays of ice
2 litre bottle lemon-lime carbonated drink
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
340ml frozen limeade
lime wedges for garnish
In a large pitcher, add the ice, frozen limeade, and lemon-lime carbonated drink. Add the sliced cucumber and some lime wedges (keep some back for garnishing). Stir until the limeade melts. Leave to chill in fridge for 1 hour. Serve.
60ml Apple Sourz
60ml lemon juice
280ml agave nectar/simple syrup
green food colouring
green sugar, for garnishing
lemon-lime carbonated drink
Wet the rim of the glasses and roll in green sugar so it sticks, and then fill glasses halfway with ice. In a cocktail shaker, mix together all the other ingredients and pour over the ice. Top with lemon-lime carbonated drink and serve with straws.
230ml Apple Sourz
orange, lime, and lemon slices for garnishing
Fill two tumblers with ice before adding half the sourz, Midori, lime juice, and Sprite to each one. Stir and garnish with orange, lime, or lemon wedge.
Pear Mint Mojito
1 pear, chopped and peeled
10 fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons agave nectar/simple syrup
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
500ml carbonated water or lemonade
100ml white rum
lime slices for garnishing
At the bottom your glasses/pitcher, add the mint leaves, pear, lime juice, and agave before mixing. Add the carbonated water/lemonade and the white rum and slowly combine by stirring. Pour over ice and serve. Use mint leaves (or lime wedges) to garnish.
