wagamama today announces the opening of two new restaurants in Norwich and Hatfield to meet the huge demand for the popular pan Asian brand.

The openings of the two new restaurants are planned for early 2023 and will create 62 jobs at both sites.

The new restaurants will mean wagamama will then have 156 restaurants across the UK to meet the demand for popular dishes like Katsu curry, tasty ramens and delicious plant based dishes.

The Norwich wagamama is set to open early February at the Riverside Retail Park on Wherry Road, a short walk from the train station, with a design for 118 covers inside and an extra 12 outside.

While the Hatfield wagamama is earmarked to open early March at The Galleria Outlet on Comet Way; the number of covers for this restaurant is still to be decided. Both restaurants are hiring front of house and back of house staff. (Please see here for details).

wagamama regional marketing manager, Alice Eagle, said: “We are so excited to be opening two new restaurants in both Norwich and Hatfield next year. We have been present in the Norwich community for almost a decade, so welcoming another restaurant to this area will be hugely exciting for both us and our guests. As for Hatfield, this is a new area for us as we head into the famous Galleria shopping centre, however our guests nearby in St Albans, Stevenage and north London will soon have more choices of benches to visit when craving katsu. With opening these two new restaurants, we very much look forward to welcoming new faces through our doors, as well as our much loved regulars.”

wagamama is renowned for its iconic katsu curry as well as a menu packed full of fresh, nourishing dishes including rice bowls, noodles, curries and a menu which offers 50 per cent plant based dishes.

Vegan trailblazers wagamama will continue to promote plant-based eating as one of the most powerful choices consumers can make in the fight against climate change.

wagamama: our story and our food ‘kaizen’, meaning ‘good change’ is the philosophy that sits right at our heart. It shapes every dish we create, and pushes us to find better ways in all that we do. We’re restless spirits, forever creating and making things better.

We’ve been practising kaizen since 1992, when we opened our first doors in London’s Bloomsbury. Inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of Asian food, wagamama burst into life. We set out to create a unique way of eating; bringing the fresh, nourishing, flavours of Asia to all.

A warming bowl of bold ramen, teppan dishes griddled to perfection or if you would rather rice, you’re in luck – our menu features many Japanese favourites. Fresh, authentic menus that are updated seasonally. wagamama is a staple of modern Asian cuisine

In the name of kaizen, our standards are high. Our ingredients are cooked fresh, served fresh. Every bowl and plate that we fill with them is served as soon as it’s ready. The colours and aromas, flavours and spices are always at their best when they touch your table.
